Airport Metropolis

Analysing optimal infrastructure for economic development in an airport metropolis ́ region, PhD Thesis, Ms Mirjam Wiedemann

Project Overview

Airports are no longer considered as just infrastructure but regional gateways and very often become cities in themselves. Airport Metropolises and their infrastructure influence the economic development of host cities and regions which in turn affects the importance and business of airports.

The project investigates: Are there correlations between the economic development and the provided infrastructure?

What will be needed for better economic development in the surrounding area of an airport in interrelationship of infrastructure?
