Marine Tourism

Marine tourism is an underdeveloped sub-sector of the tourism market

This would improve significantly through professional training and development of tourism operators in interpretation and marine sciences. Marine tourism in the South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales regions is a growing industry.

Informed interpretation of the marine tourist experience and a highly engaged program of scientific exchange are required to broaden this sector. The study involves developing a model to improve technical visitation and a training module for improving the knowledge and capacity of tourism operators and the broader marine tourism industry.
